Dr Bracka has over two decades of practice in the field and has a global reputation for his work on truth-telling. His legal experiences have traversed Native Title litigation at Arnold Bloch Leibler to leading research projects at the Peres Centre for Peace (Tel Aviv) and the International Centre of Transitional Justice (New York).

Dr Bracka's research examines how legal frameworks address historical injustices, with a particular focus on truth commissions, post-conflict justice, and the intersection of law and memory. He has developed a strong research agenda that critically evaluates the governance of truth-telling mechanisms, particularly their inclusivity and responsiveness to marginalised communities from Rwanda, Palestine to Australia. His monograph, Transitional Justice for Israel/Palestine? Truth-Telling and Empathy in Ongoing Conflict (Springer, 2022), has been well received as a significant contribution to the field.

Dr Bracka's research on Indigenous justice, particularly through his recent work on Victoria's Yoorrook Justice Commission, reflects a broader engagement with truth-telling as a mechanism for redress in Australia. He is the lead academic on the Malcolm Moore Industry Grant Project 2025 .Dr Bracka's prior experience includes working at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, Israel's Supreme Court, and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, bringing a wealth of comparative legal expertise to his writing.
