Duncan Sayer

Duncan Sayer is Professor of Archaeology at UCLan. He directed excavations at Oakington early Anglo-Saxon cemetery and Ribchester Roman Fort and has worked extensively in field archaeology. Duncan has published work on early medieval archaeology, mortuary archaeology, post medieval religion and the archaeology of kinship. He has a particular interest in cemeteries and social archaeology. Professor Sayer is author of 'Early Anglo-Saxon cemeteries: kinship, community and identity' and 'Ethics and Burial Archaeology'.
