Spain Edges Out Türkiye with 6-0 Win in 2026 World Cup Qualifier

(MENAFN) Spain delivered a commanding 6-0 victory over Türkiye on Sunday in their second Group E match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup European qualifiers, held in Konya.

From the outset, the Spanish squad applied relentless pressure, quickly turning possession into scoring opportunities. Although Nico Williams’ early attempt was denied by Türkiye’s goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, Spain struck first in the 6th minute when Pedri fired a precise shot from outside the penalty area.

Spain maintained control throughout the first half, exploiting defensive lapses to add two more goals by Mikel Merino, closing the interval with a 3-0 lead.

The second half saw Spain extend their dominance with further goals from Ferran Torres, Merino, and Pedri, culminating in a comprehensive 6-0 triumph.

This win boosts Spain’s unbeaten run to 27 matches and keeps them atop Group E with six points. Türkiye, meanwhile, slips to third place with three points.
