CHARLOTTE, NC - September 5, 2025 - The Carolina Film Festival today announced details for its upcoming 2025 event, scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025 , at the Independent Picture House Theater in Charlotte, North Carolina. The festival begins with a red carpet experience at 1:30 PM , featuring music by Deejay Lo-Tek , followed by the official start of the program at 2:00 PM .

This year's festival will showcase and honor a wide selection of films across multiple categories, including Best Short, Best Horror, Best Drama , and others. Winning films will be announced during the event, with awards presented directly to the filmmakers in recognition of their work.

In addition to screenings, the festival will feature a Q&A panel with industry guests:

Dave Maldonado , actor from the hit film Sinners
Lawrence Gilligan , actor from Superman
Stephen J. Anderson , director of Disney's Winnie the Pooh

The festival is also honored to welcome North Carolina Senator Caleb Theodros as a special guest speaker. Senator Theodros will discuss Senate Bill 301 , a new initiative aimed at supporting and uplifting North Carolina's film industry and the creative professionals who power it.
