Probe On Over 10,000 Complaints Related To Missing Persons To Be Expedited
The Office on Missing Persons was established under the provisions of Act No. 14 0f 2016 on Office on Missing People (Establishment, Administration, and Functioning).
This office performs the function of issuing reports after conducting investigations on the missing or disappeared.
From approximately 16,966 complaints received by the Office so far, 10,517 complaints have been listed for further investigations.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to implement a special project to complete the investigations and related duties at the end of 2027.
The Cabinet has also decided to appoint 25 sub-committees comprising 75 eligible persons including retired judges, senior administrative officers, and lawyers to provide justice to the aggrieved parties.
