Direct Flights To Japan With ANA Airlines Being Negotiated In Panama -

(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) Foreign Minister Javier Martínez-Acha confirmed that Panama and Japan are close to finalizing a direct flight between the two countries through the Japanese airline All Nippon Airways (ANA). The objective of this connection is to position Panama as the air gateway from Asia to Central and South America, strengthening the country's international connectivity. Also participating in the official tour of Japan are Salomón Shamah, director of Promtur, and Rafael Bárcenas, director general of the Civil Aeronautical Authority, who are advancing negotiations with representatives of the airline.

In addition to the air travel issue, the foreign minister reported that the possible extension of the visa exemption for Panamanian citizens visiting Japan is being discussed. The Panamanian delegation also discussed strategic issues such as the security of the Panama Canal, as well as investment and trade opportunities. Among the projects mentioned were the Panama-David-Border railway and a future gas pipeline. Martínez-Acha noted that Japan is the third largest user of the Panama Canal, which reinforces the importance of strengthening bilateral ties with that country.
