UN Official Praises Kuwait's Efforts To Protect Women Against Acts Of Violence


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 4 (KUNA) -- The UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women and Girls, Reem Al-Salem, praised on Thursday Kuwait's national efforts to protect women and girls against acts of violence.
This came in a meeting with Deputy Director of the Interior Ministry's General Department for Investigation Affairs, Reem Al-Mousa.
A statement by the Ministry said that the two officials and those present at the meeting discussed Kuwait's national efforts to ensure the rights of women and young girls against possible acts of violence perpetrated against them.
Al-Salem affirmed that laws in Kuwait have witnessed considerable progress, which reflected the State's keenness to uphold human dignity and rights.
Interior Ministry and UN officials attended the meeting. (end)
