Costa, Von Der Leyen Make Statements On Arriving At Coalition Of The Willing Summit

António Costa stated that leaders are focused on turning commitments on security guarantees for Ukraine into action:

“Ukraine's security is Europe's security and today we're turning commitment into action. We are delivering a plan to guarantee a just and lasting peace.”

Ursula von der Leyen also shared a video of her arrival in Paris, where she was greeted by French President Emmanuel Macron, along with footage of welcomes from other leaders at the meeting, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“We have been working on three core tasks. Turning Ukraine into a steel porcupine. Building a Multinational Force for Ukraine backed by the US. Reinforcing Europe's defence posture,” von der Leyen wrote.

“Let's now move forward,” she concluded.

As reported, the Coalition of the Willing meeting is taking place today at the Élysée Palace in Paris, chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

At 14:00 local time, participants are scheduled to call US President Donald Trump.
