UK Defense Secretary On Putin At Beijing Parade: It Shows He Is Weak

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) He made this statement during a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday, September 3, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

In response to a question about his view on the parade in Beijing and the guests of Chinese leader Xi Jinping-particularly Vladimir Putin-and the formation of a possible axis, Healey said:“I take two things out of this. When we see North Korea providing troops to back up Putin on his front line, when we see China providing technology and vital components, it tells me that Putin is begging for help from others”.

He added that Putin“likes to show he is strong, but he is weaker than ever.”

Healey attributed the Kremlin leader's weakness to the fact that“he has lost more than a million men. He has lost more than 10,000 tanks, armored vehicles. His Black Sea Fleet has been humiliated by a nation with no navy.”

The minister emphasized that Putin has failed to achieve any of his strategic objectives.

“This was a war he thought he would win in three days, but he is still fighting because of the courage of the Ukrainians three and a half years later,” he said.

Healey also spoke of the spirit of defiance he witnessed during his visit to Kyiv:“From Minister Shmyhal and the Armed Forces to keep fighting his illegal invasion. Defiance from the men and women in the drone factory I met this morning, despite being bombed five times. And also defiance from the defense ministers in those nations of the Coalition of the Willing ready to secure the peace when it comes and to stand by Ukraine for as long as it takes.”

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and UK Defense Secretary John Healey met in Kyiv to coordinate next steps to strengthen the defense capabilities of both countries.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un held bilateral talks following the military parade in the Chinese capital on Wednesday, September 3, discussing the involvement of North Korean troops in the war against Ukraine and further cooperation.
