Official, Popular Events Across Governorates Celebrate Prophet's Birth

Governorates, Sept 3 (Petra) – Official and popular events were held across Jordan on Wednesday to celebrate the 1,500th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, which falls on Friday, emphasizing the occasion's role in promoting Islamic values, cultural identity, and the messages of mercy and tolerance inspired by the life of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
In the Greater Amman Municipality, the Persons with Disabilities Unit organized celebrations at centers in Raghadan, Sweileh, and Ashrafieh, in cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
Activities included readings from the Prophet's biography, lectures, and religious chants, bringing joy to participants and their families.
In Mafraq, the All Jordan Youth Commission (AJYC) held celebrations featuring several supplications, including the Mohammadiya poem, with performances by Abdullah Ali Al-Husban, Abdullah Ahmad Khalaileh, and Mohammad Anwar Ibn Nouh.
The event, attended by Governor Firas Abu Al-Ghanam and MP Ahmad Olaimat, highlighted the role of youth in preserving religious and cultural traditions.
AJYC Director Abdul Rahim Zawahreh said the initiative reflects the commission's commitment to nurturing noble values and cultural identity among the younger generation.
At Yarmouk University, Acting President Mousa Al-Rababa extended congratulations to the university community on the occasion, stressing the Prophet's exemplary life and the importance of spreading teachings of peace, tolerance, justice, and mercy in daily life.
