Fatal Attack On Police Patrol In Karak: SHO And Two Officers Martyred

Three policemen were killed and another critically injured when unknown assailants ambushed a police patrol in Banda Daud Shah tehsil of Karak district on Tuesday.

According to police reports, the incident occurred while the patrol was on routine duty when armed attackers, lying in wait, opened fire indiscriminately. Three policemen died on the spot, while another was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The slain policemen included the Station House Officer (SHO) of Banda Daud Shah police station. Following the attack, the assailants managed to flee. Police immediately cordoned off the area and launched a large-scale search operation.

A senior police official condemned the incident, terming it a cowardly act aimed at destabilizing the region and undermining the morale of the force. He said the sacrifices of the police personnel would not go in vain and vowed that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

The attack highlights persistent security challenges in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where police and security forces continue to be targeted by armed groups. Investigations into the ambush have been formally initiated.
