Coalition Of The Willing's Plans To Deploy Troops To Ukraine Are Real And Substantial Healey

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) UK Defense Secretary John Healey said this at a press conference in Kyiv, following his chairing of a meeting of defense ministers from the Coalition of the Willing, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

When asked how many troops the United Kingdom would be ready to deploy to Ukraine, Healey referred to remarks by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who stated that Britain would be ready to send forces once a peace agreement is reached-if doing so could help lead efforts to secure a long-term and just peace.

At the same time, all defense ministers present at the meeting, including Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, are determined“not to release details of our plans, because that would only make Putin wiser.”

“But let me assure you: those plans and the commitments to commit planes, or ships, or troops are substantial, and they are real. We believe peace is possible, and we must be ready when that peace comes,” Healey stated.

Healey also declined to comment on questions regarding Ukraine's potential use of Nightfall ballistic missiles or whether there are restrictions on using Storm Shadow missiles to strike targets inside Russia, citing the UK's longstanding tradition of not commenting on such military cooperation matters.
