Moscow Dismisses Trump’s Claims of Plot Against US
(MENAFN) Russian officials firmly dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s accusation on Wednesday that Russian, Chinese, and North Korean leaders were plotting against Washington, following a significant military parade in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.
Yuri Ushakov, a key aide to President Vladimir Putin, responded to the allegations in a televised interview with a Russian journalist, shared on his Telegram channel. “I want to say that no one was plotting (against the US), no one was weaving anything, no conspiracies. Moreover, no one even had this in their thoughts, none of these three leaders had it,” Ushakov stated.
The controversy followed China’s grand parade, which marked the 80th anniversary of Japan's defeat in World War II. The event saw the attendance of foreign dignitaries, including Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
In China, the 1937-1945 period is officially known as the “War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression” and is regarded as a key segment of the broader “World Anti-Fascist War.”
Ushakov also responded to Trump’s comments, adding, “In addition, I can say that everyone understands what role the United States, the current administration of President Trump and President Trump personally play in the current international situation.” He remarked that Trump’s statements were “not without irony.”
Trump had previously accused the three leaders of conspiring against the U.S. in a post shared on his social media platform, Truth Social. He further referenced the sacrifices made by Americans in China’s fight during WWII, stating his hope that their bravery would be “rightfully Honored and Remembered.”
