Army Chief, US Commander Talk Cooperation

Amman, Sept. 1 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Monday received US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Admiral Brad Cooper at the General Command headquarters of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF).
The discussion tackled ways to bolster military cooperation between JAF and the US military as well as current regional developments, security challenges, and joint efforts to enhance stability in the region.
Huneiti and the visiting delegation were also briefed on recent defense and security updates within the Jordan Armed Forces, as well as Jordan's ongoing humanitarian efforts in the West Bank and Gaza.
The army chief stressed the importance of Jordan's strategic partnership with friendly forces, reaffirming the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening military cooperation and exchanging expertise to enhance operational readiness in addressing regional and global challenges.
For his part, Cooper noted Jordan's pivotal role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in supporting regional stability, and expressed keenness to expand military cooperation to serve mutual interests.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior JAF officers and the US defense attaché in Amman.
