Türkiye, Pakistan Vow Cooperation to Counter Israel’s Gaza Genocide

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday accused Israel of attempting to widen what he called a “genocidal” campaign in Gaza, pledging continued cooperation with Pakistan to counter these actions.

Speaking alongside Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif during a meeting in Tianjin, China, Erdogan made the remarks in line with a statement from the Turkish Communications Directorate, shared via national social media platform NSosyal.

"President Erdogan emphasized that Israel sought to expand its policy of genocide in Gaza, underlined that Türkiye stood on the same line with Pakistan against this genocide, and stated that the two countries would continue to work in coordination," the statement said.

The leaders also reviewed bilateral relations and touched on regional and global issues.

Erdogan expressed satisfaction with the growing ties between Pakistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), praising what he described as meaningful solidarity.

He further highlighted ongoing efforts between Türkiye and Pakistan to deepen collaboration across several sectors, particularly trade, energy, defense, and security.

Addressing the situation in Syria, Erdogan reiterated Ankara’s stance on preserving the country’s territorial integrity and warned against actions that could threaten regional stability.

Both leaders are in China to attend the 25th Heads of State Council meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), being held in Tianjin.
