Minister Inspects Healthcare Projects In Ma'an

Ma'an, Aug. 21 (Petra) – Minister of Public Works and Housing Maher Abu Samen, conducted an inspection tour Thursday to follow up on the progress of the Ma'an Military Hospital and the new Outpatient Clinics and Regional Blood Bank projects at Ma'an Governmental Hospital.
Accompanied by senior officials, the minister was briefed on the JD 35 million Ma'an Military Hospital project. Spanning 30,000 square meters with a 150-bed capacity, the hospital is a Royal initiative aimed at enhancing medical services for both civilians and armed forces personnel.
Abu Samen stressed the project's national significance and warned that delays were hindering the delivery of essential healthcare. He directed officials to enforce contractual measures to ensure timely completion. He said that Ma'an is in dire need of an integrated health care facility that would enhance services for people of the area.
The minister also inspected the new Outpatient Clinics and Regional Blood Bank at Ma'an Governmental Hospital, a project valued at JD 3.5 million. With a current completion rate of 25 percent, the 5,154-square-meter facility is designed to consolidate diagnostic and therapeutic services.
The two-story building will include rooms for general and specialized clinics covering cardiology, urology, ophthalmology, gynecology, pediatrics, dermatology, and audiology. It will also feature laboratories, a blood bank, a regional blood bank, and units for general X-ray, panoramic imaging, and ultrasound.
