Over Qr40mn In Zakat Aid Distributed In July: Ministry
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Department of Zakat Affairs, announced that the total financial assistance provided during July 2025 reached QR40,336,734, benefiting 4,500 families throughout the country, as part of the persistent efforts to support eligible groups and to promote social solidarity.
Head of the Zakat Disbursement Section, Saeed Hadi al-Marri, underscored the commitment to delivering Zakat funds to their rightful recipients as per the prescribed religious guidelines and approved regulations, in pursuit of fulfilling the obligations of donors and contributing to building a compassionate and tight-knit community.
Assistance during July 2025 was distributed based on two key categories, primarily the regular monthly aid, earmarked regularly for families to cover their basic needs, including food, housing, and sustenance, whose value amounted to QR16,268,866, al-Marri pointed out.
The second category, he said, represents one-time assistance provided on an exceptional basis as per need, including support for medical treatment, payment of tuition fees, settlement of debts, provision of housing, and assistance to families of Gazans living in Qatar, totalling QR24,067,868.
Al-Marri noted that all assistance is earmarked for families registered inside Qatar after weighing the cases at hand and confirming eligibility.
He emphasised that applications for assistance are open through the department's website: (QNA)
