China finishes constructing photovoltaic power station in Romania
(MENAFN) A 31.82-megawatt photovoltaic power station constructed by China’s Pinggao Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. has been completed in Stefan cel Mare, Calarasi County, southeastern Romania, according to reports.
The project, operated as a subsidiary of China Electric Equipment Group Co., Ltd., took roughly 10 months to finish and is expected to run for 25 years. It is projected to produce 42 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20,000 tonnes.
At the completion ceremony, Song Xianmao, counselor in charge of business affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Romania, emphasized the importance of green energy in addressing climate change and promoting economic growth. He noted that cooperation between China and Romania has deepened in recent years, with Chinese companies supporting the country’s low-carbon transition.
Nicolae Pandea, mayor of Stefan cel Mare commune, remarked that although Bucharest and Beijing are 7,100 km apart, distance has not hindered successful collaboration. He welcomed further Chinese investment and promised expedited approvals for major projects.
