Türkiye’s FNSS Advances Next-Generation Armored Vehicle
(MENAFN) With close to 35 years of expertise, the Turkish defense company FNSS is preparing to launch international exports of its state-of-the-art Pars Alpha armored combat vehicle, available in both eight-wheeled and six-wheeled configurations.
This new vehicle is also scheduled for deployment by the Turkish Armed Forces.
Kerem Kaplan, the director responsible for domestic programs at FNSS, shared insights with a news agency, emphasizing that the Pars series is a “field-proven product,” thanks to the operational experience gathered in countries such as Malaysia, Oman, and Türkiye.
Earlier this year, in February, Türkiye’s Defense Industry Agency (SSB), BMC, and FNSS collaborated to sign the “Next Generation Vehicle Project.” Kaplan explained that ground combat platforms hold a significant position within this project.
“The SSB conducted a four-year prototype competition and testing process, which Pars Alpha completed, and we signed with the SSB in February to deliver Pars Alpha vehicles with eight different configurations,” Kaplan stated. “We plan to start deliveries in 2028.”
He continued by noting, “The T0 phase of the deal has begun and we’re currently in the design review stage for the vehicle — although some of its features have been verified during the prototype competition, much more comprehensive tests await the vehicle.”
Following these trials, a year-long qualification phase is expected, after which delivery operations will commence.
According to Kaplan, FNSS intends to present the Pars Alpha for testing in 2027.
However, the company is striving to speed up its development efforts in hopes of deploying the vehicle on the battlefield by 2028.
