Air India Completes Inspection Of Fuel Control Switches On Boeing 787 Planes

Air India on Wednesday announced the completion of precautionary inspections on the locking mechanism of the Fuel Control Switch (FCS) across its fleet of Boeing 787 aircraft and revealed that no issues were detected.

According to Indian news agency ANI, the airline's Engineering team initiated the inspections over the weekend following a directive from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued on Monday, July 14.

The checks were part of a broader safety compliance effort to ensure the continued airworthiness of the fleet.

In addition, all Boeing 787-8 aircraft operated by Air India have undergone Throttle Control Module (TCM) replacements, as per Boeing's recommended maintenance schedule. The FCS is a key component of the TCM, and its inspection formed part of the overall system review.
