
Two Policemen Martyred, One Militant Killed In Dera Ismail Khan Encounter
According to police sources, Head Constable Ghulam Muhammad and Constable Shehzad were en route to the city for groceries when unidentified assailants opened fire on them. Both officers embraced martyrdom on the spot. The slain personnel had previously served in the force and were currently reappointed on duty.
Following the incident, senior police officials including the District Police Officer (DPO) and CTD personnel swiftly arrived at the scene. A search operation was launched in the area, during which the attackers were intercepted while attempting to flee.

In the retaliatory firing, one militant was shot dead, while two others sustained injuries, police sources confirmed. Security forces recovered a Kalashnikov rifle and ammunition from the deceased militant.
The search operation, jointly conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and district police, remains ongoing as authorities continue to hunt down remaining suspects.
The attack highlights the persistent security challenges in the region, even as law enforcement agencies intensify counter-terror operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
