Traffic Collision in Indonesia Leads to Three Fatalities


(MENAFN) At least three fatalities have been confirmed following a severe traffic collision Monday morning in Central Java, Indonesia, authorities reported.

The crash took place at approximately 5:30 a.m. on the highway linking Batang Regency with Semarang City. Initial police findings reveal the incident involved a sport utility vehicle (SUV) carrying three passengers and two heavy trucks.

Batang Traffic Police Chief Ahmad Zainurrozaq told local outlets, The SUV driver was probably fatigued and failed to maintain adequate focus while operating the vehicle. The SUV first struck the rear of one truck before being rear-ended by another.

Tragically, all three individuals inside the SUV died on site. Zainurrozaq added that the bodies were transported to a nearby hospital, and authorities are actively investigating the crash’s circumstances.

Fatal accidents on Indonesia’s roads remain frequent, often linked to factors such as vehicle overloading, hazardous road infrastructure, and reckless driving behaviors.
