Ukrainian Troops Show Ground Drone In Action
“Magura” emphasized that its guiding principle is to fight with technology as much as possible instead of putting soldiers at risk.
The brigade's GRS unit was formed relatively recently but has already demonstrated its effectiveness and tangible results on the battlefield.
“The latest mission involved delivering ammunition and materials for fortifying positions of the 1st Mechanized Battalion and evacuating a fallen brother-in-arms and a wounded soldier with a leg injury on the return trip. Three days of planning, UAV team support, avoiding electronic warfare and enemy drones, and the skill of our GRS operator, and the mission was a success,” the brigade noted.
The unit's chief sergeant, call sign Pekar (Baker), explained:
“To do the same in a pickup truck would require at least two soldiers and driving into a dangerous area. That could mean a destroyed vehicle and casualties. With the ground drone, it's just the machine going in.”
