EU Launches €37 Million For Ukraine Reconstruction Project
The project will run from 10 July 2025 to 30 June 2028 and will provide coordinated funding, technical assistance, and digital tools for Ukraine's reconstruction, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment of public investments with EU standards from the outset.
EU4Reconstruction will strengthen the leadership of Ukraine's Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, enhance the capacity of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, empower local authorities to manage reconstruction professionally and sustainably, and support civil society and independent media in conducting active oversight to ensure public trust and reduce corruption risks.
The project will be implemented by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Expertise France, and the Central Project Management Agency (CPVA).
In this initiative, Europe acts not as fragmented donors but as one strong and unified partner: pooling resources, expertise, and political will, making it more effective not only for Ukraine but also for Europe's shared future.
According to Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, Ukrainians, with their resilience and determination, are a source of inspiration.

I am convinced they will turn reconstruction into a success. The EU will support them step by step, reform by reform, to rebuild a strong, modern Ukraine, at home in the EU. Programmes like EU4Reconstruction help us get there,” Kos stated.
“Even as the war continues, Ukrainians cannot and do not pause their lives - and neither can we. Reconstruction must start now, because people need homes, schools, hospitals and functioning communities to live in dignity,” EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová added.
Danish State Secretary for Development Policy Elsebeth Søndergaard Krone noted that the sooner Ukraine can be rebuilt, the stronger and more stable the entire European continent will become.
As reported by Ukrinform, in early May, the EU and member states presented the new EU4Reconstruction progra , which is part of Team Europe and aims to strengthen Ukraine's institutional capacity in public investment, infrastructure restoration, and regional development in line with EU standards.
