Axicom Appoints UK Managing Director
(MENAFN- PRovoke)
LONDON - Axicom has appointed former John Doe group CEO Magin Trewhella as its new UK managing director.
The move comes after the WPP agency – which specialises in working with B2B and consumer brands with a technology story – made a number of changes to its senior leadership structure, including former UK MD Rosie Bannister moving into a new chief operations officer role earlier this year.
Trewhella has been group CEO at John Doe since 2018, running the agency alongside Pam Scobbie and Lee Beattie. During this time the agency saw a nine-fold revenue increase, and evolved into a channel-agnostic integrated agency group. Much of that growth was driven through the acquisition and development of major tech brands including Meta, Tesco Mobile, Instagram, Bumble and Kayak.
Before John Doe, Trewhella spent nearly five years at Pernod Ricard, latterly as head of marketing.
In his new role, Trewhella's mandate includes building out Axicom's creative approach, bridging the gap between B2B and consumer expectations and underlining its 'Futurists, not Followers' philosophy. I March, the agency bolstered its creative team and introduced its 'Calculated Bravery' creative methodology, combining data and analytics, strategy, and creative with proprietary AI tools.
Axicom EMEA president Isobel Coney said:“Magin's exceptional energy, dynamism, and entrepreneurial ambition are precisely what Axicom needs as we enter our next phase of growth. His enormous experience in scaling agencies and his deep understanding of audience engagement, particularly within the tech sector, makes him the ideal leader to drive our UK operations.
“As the B2B buying landscape rapidly evolves, with a new generation of decision-makers seeking consumer-grade experiences, Magin's unique blend of agency leadership and deep audience expertise ensures we are uniquely equipped to deliver the bold, impactful communications our clients need to thrive in this new era. This appointment reinforces our commitment to strategic leadership and innovation.”
Trewhella said he had“long admired Axicom's reputation as a true leader in technologically advanced communications”. He added:“The B2B landscape is undergoing a profound shift, with a new generation of buyers demanding the same level of creativity, transparency, and seamless digital interactions they expect as consumers. Axicom's approach, combined with its deep tech expertise, is perfectly poised to meet this demand.
“I'm hugely excited to be joining such an incredibly talented global team, leveraging my consumer brand experience to help our B2B tech clients connect more authentically and impactfully with these evolving audiences, driving significant growth and impact, while also exploring new opportunities across the broader technology sector.”
