(MENAFN) Netanyahu visit Pro-Palestinian demonstrators assembled outside the White House on Sunday to voice their opposition to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming visit to Washington, D.C.

Netanyahu, making his third trip to the U.S. in six months, is scheduled to meet President Donald Trump on Monday. Protesters waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans including “Free, free Palestine,” while holding signs such as “Stop Arming Israel,” “Long Live Palestine,” and “Wanted Netanyahu.”

Organizers from American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and other advocacy groups announced plans to hold a press conference Monday. They intend to denounce Netanyahu’s presence in the U.S. capital and call for an end to American support for Israel’s military actions in Gaza.

Earlier in the day, President Trump told reporters there was a “good chance” that a ceasefire and hostage release deal with Hamas could be achieved within the week. When asked about his upcoming meeting with Netanyahu, Trump replied, "We're working on a lot of things with Israel, and one of the things is probably a permanent deal with Iran."

During his stay in Washington, Netanyahu is also expected to hold discussions with senior U.S. administration officials and members of Congress from both parties.

In November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.
