Qatar Participates In 131St Session Of Permanent Council Of La Francophonie

Paris: The State of Qatar participated in the 131st Session of the Permanent Council of La Francophonie, held in Paris.

Qatar's Ambassador to the French Republic and its Representative to the Organization, H E Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani represented the State of Qatar at the session.

In her opening remarks, HE Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie, Louise Mushikiwabo praised the State of Qatar's role in mediating between the Republic of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict in eastern DRC. She expressed her gratitude to Qatar for its contribution to establishing security and peace at the regional and international levels. Participants in the session discussed the outcomes of the 19th La Francophonie Summit, held in France in October 2024, and the preparations for the 46th Session of the La Francophonie Ministerial Conference, slated for November in Kigali, Rwanda.
