Türkiye’s Export Value Reaches Record High

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s exports over the past 12 months reached a historic peak, hitting USD267 billion in June, according to Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat, who announced the figures on Wednesday.

In the month of June alone, the nation’s exports climbed by 8 percent, reaching USD20.54 billion, while imports surged by 15.3 percent to USD28.7 billion, based on data released by the Trade Ministry.

The foreign trade deficit for June stood at USD8.17 billion, with the export-to-import coverage ratio recorded at 71.5 percent.

Speaking at a press briefing in Istanbul, Bolat emphasized that the 8 percent growth in exports was the highest increase observed in the last year.

During the first half of the year, from January to June, exports grew by 4.1 percent to USD131.44 billion, whereas imports rose by 7.2 percent year-on-year, totaling USD180.87 billion.

Türkiye experienced a foreign trade shortfall of USD49.43 billion in the six-month period, while the export-import coverage ratio for that timeframe was 72.7 percent.
