Fit India Movement Gains Momentum Across J&K


(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar- The Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, has been actively organizing Fit India Runs across various districts as part of the nationwide Fit India Movement initiated by the Prime Minister of India. These events aim to promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and community engagement among students and the general public. The Director General of the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K has been personally monitoring these national-level activities to ensure widespread awareness and participation in the campaign.

In Rajouri, the Fit India Run was organized across 15 sports zones, including the Mini Stadium Sports Complex, under the supervision of District Sports Officers and local officials. The event emphasized the Government's commitment to fostering a culture of wellness and active living. Similarly, in Poonch, the Surankote zone witnessed a spirited rally, flagged off by Zonal Physical Education Officer, with participation from students, NYC volunteers, NCC cadets, and local citizens. Slogans like Hum Fit Toh India Fit and Fitness Ka Dose Aadha Ghanta Roz echoed the collective enthusiasm for fitness.

Pulwama saw widespread participation in Fit India Runs across multiple sports zones, with District Youth Services and Sports Officer commending the efforts of participants. The events highlighted the importance of physical and mental well-being while fostering teamwork and community spirit.

In Kathua, the Fit India Run was conducted across all sports zones under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports. The initiative aimed to integrate fitness into daily routines, aligning with the broader mission of the Fit India Movement.

Meanwhile, Kishtwar witnessed an energetic run with 120 athletes, including 85 boys and 35 girls, showcasing their dedication to a healthier lifestyle.

Doda district also joined the movement with a Fit India Run spanning 10 zones, organised under the guidance of the District Sports Office. The event reinforced the message of adopting active lifestyles for long-term well-being.
