Ukrainian General Staff Orders Comprehensive Audit Of All Countermeasures Against Russian Drones

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was announced by the General Staff on Facebook following a high-level coordination meeting focused on defending against Russian attack UAVs. The meeting was held in line with a decision by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff and directives from Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi.

During the meeting, representatives from the Air Force Command, Unmanned Systems Forces, logistics divisions, and other military leadership bodies reviewed interim results, current challenges, and potential solutions.

Key topics included scaling up drone interceptor programs (anti-aircraft UAVs) and training and deployment of new drone crews. This work is already underway, according to the General Staff.

The participants also discussed the urgent need to improve the technical and material base of relevant units and training centers, increase the efficiency of recruitment centers tasked with assembling drone crews, and address other top-priority objectives in strengthening Ukraine's drone defense capabilities.

General Hnatov emphasized that the audit will cover all components of the counter-drone effort.

“We know what must be done to ensure that, within the set timeframe, we have a sufficient number of trained crews capable of effectively protecting our factories, critical infrastructure, homes, and the lives of every Ukrainian from enemy drones. However, this work will only succeed if all parts of the system are consolidated,” Hnatov said.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky convened a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, where drone production was a key topic.
