Kuwait FM Visits GCC Emergency Ctr, Lauds Regional Security Efforts

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 19 (KUNA) -- Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya visited on Thursday the GCC emergency center and was briefed on the center's duties and tasks.
He was received by head of the center Brigadier Dr. Rashed Al-Mari who informed him about plans to respond to regional emergencies.
A statement by the Foreign Ministry indicated that Minister Al-Yahya lauded the efforts of the GCC emergency center and its role to bolster cooperation amongst regional countries especially in the domain of nuclear and radioactive countermeasures.
He affirmed that coordination must continue to face urgent challenges amid rapid developments both on the regional and international levels.
He reiterated the State of Kuwait's support of the GCC emergency center and its vital operations. (end)
