At Least 178 Filipino Workers In Israel Seek To Flee

Manila: The Philippines will repatriate at least 178 Filipinos working in Israel who asked the government's help to flee the rapidly spiraling conflict between Israel and Iran, the Philippines' Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said Thursday.

In a press conference, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac said the DMW has also been assisting 14 overseas Filipino workers in Iran, three in Jordan, one in Iraq, and one who crossed the country to Iraq from Dubai.

He added that the DMW helped 58 Filipino workers stranded at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports.

According to the Philippines' Department of Foreign Affairs, there are about 1,180 Filipinos in Iran and 30,742 in Israel.
