H.E. Hessa Buhumaid visits DFWAC, lauds foundation’s commitment to developing social care system

Her Excellency Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid, Director General of the Dubai Community Development Authority, today visited the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children as part of joint efforts to enhance the social care system in Dubai.
Buhumaid was received by Her Excellency Sheikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Director General of the Foundation, along with a number of senior officials and specialised work teams.
The visit featured a field tour of the newly inaugurated boy’s care home, dedicated to children aged 12 to 17. The facility was opened as part of the Foundation’s institutional expansion, following the directives of the Executive Council of Dubai.
It is aligned with the child rights law (Wadeema's Law) and the Dubai Social Agenda 33, aiming to provide a safe and supportive environment that fosters psychological and social stability and empowers children to build a secure and sustainable future.
H.E. Sheikha Saeed Al Mansouri provided an overview of the project, which is fully equipped with recreational, educational, and healthcare facilities, in addition to a wide range of developmental programmes. The home offers integrated care services, including safe shelter, housing, clothing, meals, psychological rehabilitation, and comprehensive social and legal support.
H.E. Buhumaid commended the Foundation’s continued efforts and contributions to delivering high-quality services that reflect the highest standards of specialised care. She emphasised the importance of such initiatives in ensuring the sustainability of Dubai’s social sector.
She also praised the newly opened Home, a transformative project that exemplifies the vision of the Year of Community 2025, which seeks to build an inclusive social system that prioritises children's well-being and enhances their overall quality of life.
Buhumaid stated: “What we witnessed today at the boys' care home showcases a sincere commitment to providing a safe, integrated environment that addresses the psychological and social needs of children. It is fully aligned with the objectives of Dubai’s Social Agenda 33.”
Buhumaid commended the Foundation’s continued efforts to enhance its services and operational efficiency in accordance with global best practices and Dubai’s vision of establishing an advanced and inclusive social protection system.”
For her part, H.E. Sheikha Saeed Al Mansouri said: “Guided by the vision of our wise leadership, we are committed to expanding the social welfare system through innovative, responsive services. The boys’ care home reaffirms our institutional commitment to placing children at the top of our priorities, ensuring their psychological and social well-being, and enhancing their quality of life.”
She added, “We firmly believe that the true value of social services lies in their ability to create real, lasting impact in people’s lives. From this perspective, we will continue to evolve our programmes and invest in training our teams to meet the community’s expectations and align with Dubai’s vision of empowerment, prevention, and sustainability in the care sector. This visit will further support the Foundation’s mission and efforts to develop specialised care services.”
She concluded, “We are committed to delivering an integrated care model based on international best practices, in line with national priorities, Dubai’s strategic plans, and the Year of Community 2025. We believe that providing a safe, supportive environment for children is the foundation for building a cohesive society and a more stable, promising future.”
