Senate Chief, Bahraini Envoy Reaffirm Strong Ties, Discuss Regional Challenges

Amman, June 17 (Petra) -- Senate President Faisal Fayez met on Tuesday with Bahrain's Ambassador to Jordan, Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to explore ways to further strengthen the longstanding partnership between the two kingdoms.
The meeting, held at the Senate headquarters, also included Senator Tawfiq Kreishan, head of the Jordanian-Bahraini Parliamentary Friendship Committee. Discussions touched on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, particularly in political, economic, and parliamentary fields, in a manner that benefits both nations and their peoples.
Fayez emphasized the deep-rooted and friendly relationship between Jordan and Bahrain, grounded in mutual respect and shared goals. He highlighted the commitment of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to continually advancing bilateral ties.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern, while encouraging greater exchange of expertise and investment, and increased trade between the two countries.
The two sides also reviewed recent regional developments, including the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Palestinian territories and the broader implications of the Iranian-Israeli tensions on regional stability and security. Both agreed on the urgency of unified Arab and international efforts to address these crises.
Ambassador Al Khalifa praised the strong and growing relationship between Bahrain and Jordan, noting it is built on a foundation of trust and shared values. He expressed his country's appreciation for Jordan's steadfast support under the leadership of King Abdullah II, particularly regarding issues important to Bahrain and the wider Arab world.
