The Green Planet™ Dubai and Odyssey Nursery partner to nurture a greener generation this World Environment Day

(MENAFN- Current Global) To mark World Environment Day on Thursday, 5th June, The Green Planet™ Dubai, the region’s only indoor biodome home to over 3,000 plants and animals, has teamed up with Odyssey Nursery, a sustainability-focused early years institution from Kids First Group, to launch an inspiring initiative that places children at the heart of the climate conversation.
From Thursday, 5th to Sunday, 8th June, visitors to The Green Planet™ Dubai will be welcomed by a special installation of artwork created by Odyssey Nursery children, inspired by their reflections on rainforest conservation and environmental responsibility. Displayed inside the biodome, the exhibit invites guests to listen to the children’s voices and explore the philosophies behind their creations.
This meaningful partnership celebrates the power of creative, sensory-led education and gives young children a platform to express their vision for a greener future. Through a series of curated workshops held across Odyssey branches, children explored rainforest conservation, endangered species, and eco-responsibility using natural and recycled materials. Their artwork and reflections have been transformed into an emotional and visually impactful installation, now proudly displayed inside the biodome.
Spread across four immersive levels, The Green Planet™ Dubai offers a journey through the world’s most fascinating ecosystems, from the forest floor to the canopy. This summer, the rainforest is brought to life not only by its free-roaming animals, sloths, toucans, and reptiles, but also by the powerful voices of Dubai’s youngest environmental advocates.
A certified IBCCES facility, The Green Planet™ Dubai ensures that its educational experiences are inclusive and accessible for children of all abilities. This complements Odyssey Nursery’s Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, which places children’s ideas, senses, and creativity at the centre of the learning experience. This synergy was key in designing workshops that were not only hands-on, but also reflective, encouraging students to express what the environment means to them.
Earlier this year, Odyssey Nursery was selected as the only Dubai-based school to be featured in University College London’s (UCL) global Voices of Children project, supported by the Bright Start Foundation. The project, Inspiring Young Voices for Sustainability, highlighted how children used art to explore environmental responsibility, with select artworks exhibited at UCL East in London and showcased alongside contributions from seven other countries.
To extend the experience beyond the rainforest, educational infographics and themed displays will also be presented across Odyssey branches. Families from the nursery will receive discounted entry to The Green Planet™ Dubai, encouraging children to continue their journey of discovery and connect classroom learning with real-world encounters in nature.
