Abdelatty Stresses Importance Of Protecting Egypt's Overseas Assets

(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Badr Abdelatty, convened a meeting on Sunday with the Board of Directors of the Foreign Ministry Buildings Financing Authority Abroad, emphasising the importance of maintaining and improving the country's properties overseas.

The meeting highlighted Abdelatty's commitment to monitoring the operational progress of the ministry's affiliated organisations, particularly the Authority responsible for managing, maintaining, and preserving Foreign Ministry properties abroad. These properties include Egyptian embassies, consulates, and offices.

During the discussions, Abdelatty stressed the need to intensify efforts to maintain the aesthetic appearance of Egypt's embassies and consulates worldwide. He stated that these buildings were invaluable national assets and emphasised the need to safeguard the state-owned real estate holdings, reflecting Egypt's prestige and global image.

“It is critical that we safeguard these assets, which are owned by the state and are a reflection of Egypt's image across the world,” Abdelatty said.

The Minister also underscored the importance of developing strategic plans and programmes designed to improve, develop, and maintain the Foreign Ministry's properties abroad. He said the condition of these buildings should be commensurate with Egypt's regional and international standing.

The Board of Directors of the Foreign Ministry Buildings Financing Authority Abroad presented a comprehensive overview of the Authority's ongoing projects, including the construction, renovation, and maintenance of several Egyptian diplomatic missions.

Abdelatty urged the Board to prioritise maintaining a balance between the quality of these projects, ensuring they reflected a distinguished image, and the associated costs. He added that this would ensure the maximization and preservation of the value of state assets abroad with utmost efficiency.
