Russians Attack Naftogaz Facilities Overnight Production Capacities Damaged


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Overnight on March 28, Russian forces carried out their eighth attack this year on facilities belonging to the Naftogaz Group.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the company's press service .

“This latest strike is not just an attack on our infrastructure-it is an attempt to undermine the country's energy stability. Our specialists are already working to mitigate the consequences and assess the damage. Restoration efforts will begin immediately to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply. I want to sincerely thank the Naftogaz team and all energy workers who prove every day that Ukraine's energy system can withstand any challenge,” said Acting Naftogaz Chairman of the Board Roman Chumak.

It was noted that this was the 18th attack since the start of the full-scale war and the eighth since the beginning of 2025. No casualties were reported, but gas production facilities were damaged.

As previously reported, on March 18, U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. The White House stated that Moscow agreed to a limited ceasefire targeting energy and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.

On March 22-25, the United States and Ukraine held negotiations in Saudi Arabia, resulting in an agreement on a ceasefire concerning energy infrastructure targets.
