U.S. Approves Possible USD1.96 Billion Drone Sale to Qatar
(MENAFN) On Wednesday, the Pentagon announced that the US State Department has approved the possible sale of remotely piloted aircraft to Qatar, valued at an estimated USD1.96 billion.
According to a statement, "The proposed sale will improve Qatar’s capability to meet current and future threats by providing timely intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, target acquisition, counter-land, and counter-surface sea capabilities for its security and defense."
The primary contractors for this deal include General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Lockheed Martin, RTX Corporation, L3Harris, Inc., Boeing Corporation, as well as Leonardo SpA.
Additionally, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency issued the necessary certification to inform Congress about the possible sale on Wednesday.
