Kuwait Moi Arrests Ring Involved In Manipulating Draws

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, March 24 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior (MoI), in cooperation with Ministry of Commerce and Industry, announced on Monday busting a ring involved in controlling the results of the draws.
In a news statement, the ministry said investigations resulted in identifying the person appearing in the video posted on social media while manipulating in draws.
He is a citizen who heads the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's draws department, it added, noting that he exploited his power to carry out systematic manipulation acts in several companies' draws designed for prizes.
He guaranteed the win of specific individuals in exchange for receiving financial benefits.
Investigations revealed that the ring made accurate measures in manipulating multiple draws, it said, referring that an Arab women and her husband won several prizes due by systematic manipulations.
After getting the legal permission, security teams arrested the national, and the couple who were trying to leave the country, it stated.
The woman confessed that she joined these plots through her husband who has connection with a colleague who suggesting partaking in these draws.
The statement noted that the colleague of women's husband, and a Caribbean man - who are involved - left Kuwait on March 1 and March 23 respectively, stressing that they are being chased through Interpol.
Some other winners are involved in similar manipulations, and they are being investigated, it pointed out.
The ministry confirmed that it would continue pursuing those found involved in corruption cases or manipulating in laws or systems.
It affirmed taking severe legal punishments against those involved and bringing them to justice. (end)
