Ukraine, US embark on negotiations in Riyadh

(MENAFN) Negotiations between Ukraine and the United States have commenced in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, as confirmed by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on Sunday.

In a post on X, Umerov stated, "We’ve started the meeting with the American team in Riyadh,” emphasizing that the goal is to follow the orders of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to “bring a just peace closer and to strengthen security.”

The talks are reportedly covering various topics, including strategies to protect vital infrastructure and energy establishments.

Umerov also noted, "Today, we’re working through a number of complex technical issues — our delegation includes energy experts as well as military representatives from the naval and air components."
