UT Level Tennisball Cricket Championship Begins In Anantnag

(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Anantnag- The 14th UT Level Tennisball Cricket Championship kicked off on Friday in Anantnag. The championship was inaugurated by Tehsildar Qazigund Khurshid Ahmad Tantary along with SHO Qazigund Malik Masood at Sports Ground Qazigund.

While speaking on the occasion Tehsildar Qazigund Khurshid Ahmad Tantary said Tennisball Cricket is the basic level of cricket and all participating cricketers must showcase their cricketing skills during the championship, which in turn will help them to reach the higher levels of the sport.

The championship is meant for Mini Sub Junior U-14, Sub Junior U-17, Junior U-19 and Senior Men and Women category. A total of 14 districts of J&K are participating.

On the first day of the championship, 12 matches were held in senior boys and girls categories. The championship is organised by J&K Tennisball Cricket Association in collaboration with District Anantnag Tennisball Cricket Association. The championship is sponsored by J&K Sports Council.

On the inauguration, all the District Secretaries and other officers bearers of J&K Tennisball Cricket Association were present, which included Farooq Ahmad Salroo (Gen. Secretary), G.N. Panoo (Treasurer), Nazir Ahamd Lone (Vice President), Mushtaq Ahmad Turkey (Ex-President) and Lal Mohammad Ganie (Media Incharge).

Besides them, some senior officials of YSS Department, Khurshid Ahmad War, Dr. Abid Rather, Dr. Riyaz Veeri, Dr. Mohd Akber Ganie, Imtiyaz Hassan Bhat, Sheraz Ahmad, Ab. Rashid (Budgam) and Wahid Hussain (Shopian), were also present on the occasion.
