Moph Holds Professional License Workshop For Medical Doctors
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Public health (MoPH) recently organised a workshop titled 'Your License, Your Responsibility' for medical doctors working in the private and semi-government sectors and contact officers from private and semi-government healthcare facilities. The workshop was held at Itqan Medical Simulation and Innovation Centre at Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City.
The workshop aimed to raise doctors' awareness of the importance of obtaining a professional license, clarify the steps and requirements necessary to acquire and renew the license, outline the requirements for obtaining surgical privileges, and explain the consequences of non-compliance with licensure requirements. It also covered the requirements for continuous professional development.
The session addressed several important topics, including the procedures and requirements for services provided by the Department of Healthcare Professions of the Ministry of Public Health, such as requests for changing the workplace, how to comply with the requirements for obtaining continuous professional development to renew a license, and the mechanisms for achieving it.
Director of Registration at the Department of Healthcare Professions of the Ministry of Public Health Jawaher Al Ali stated that the workshop is part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to raise awareness among healthcare practitioners, especially medical doctors, about the need to obtain and regularly renew their professional licenses to ensure the safety and quality of healthcare services provided in Qatar. She emphasised that the practitioner is responsible for licensure.
The Accreditation Section of the Department of Healthcare Professions presented a detailed overview of the National Medical Education and Continuous Professional Development Program during the workshop, noting that the program represents a significant advancement in the healthcare sector. It aims to deliver outstanding, high-quality healthcare services to all patients in Qatar in line with the National Health Strategy and Qatar Vision 2030.
It is also mandatory for all healthcare practitioners in Qatar to actively participate in medical education and continuous professional development programs as a condition for renewing their professional licenses in the country.
The Department of Healthcare Professions of the Ministry of Public Health accredited the workshop as part of Category 1 continuing medical education and professional development activities for the approximately 800 participating healthcare practitioners over two days.
