Serbia’s PM officially resigns
(MENAFN) On Wednesday, the National Assembly of Serbia officially declared the resignation of Prime Minister Milos Vucevic, leaving his government in an interim status until a fresh government is appointed.
Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic showed appreciation for Vucevic’s "honorable and honest service," applauding his "responsible and brave leadership" throughout his tenure.
Vucevic declared his resignation on January 28, mentioning "elevated tensions" after the deadly collapse at Novi Sad railway station in November, which resulted in the death of 15 individuals.
As the resignation is now formalized, a 30-day timeframe begins for the creation of a new government. Should the cabinet not be formed within that period, Serbia will proceed with parliamentary elections.
