QCS, Houston Methodist Host Suhoor For Cancer Patients
Doha, Qatar: Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) in collaboration with Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services, organised its annual“Ramadan Suhoor” for the third consecutive year. As part of the society's ongoing psychological and community support programmes, the event offers cancer patients and their families the opportunity to meet society members and strategic partners and connect with various supporting entities.
The event took place on Al Maha Island, and was attended by a number of prominent figures in Doha, including chairman of Qatar Cancer Society Dr. Khalid bin Jaber Al Thani; Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar H H Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Abdullah Al Farhan Al Saud; general manager of QCS Mona Ashkanani; senior regional director at Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services Talal Braidy; and senior country manager Qatar and Saudi Arabia at Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services, Najla AlHudaib.
Sheikh Dr. Al Thani welcomed the attendees, noting that this annual gathering has become a solid tradition in the efforts of the Qatar Cancer Society and Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services. He added that the goal of this event is to provide psychological and social support for cancer patients and their families by creating an environment that encourages the exchange of experiences. He emphasized that through this Ramadan Suhoor, the society aims to boost the morale of patients and their families and strengthen community ties.
He expressed his gratitude to Houston Methodist for its prominent role in supporting the society's efforts in health awareness, praising the high-quality medical services and healthcare they provide.
Najla AlHudaib emphasised Houston Methodist's commitment to supporting cancer patients in Qatar, saying:“We are proud of our continued collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society. Our strategic partnership is a great opportunity to contribute to raising community awareness about cancer and its challenges, as well as supporting individuals living with the disease and their families.”
