U.S. defense chief warns Houthis to stop shipping attacks

(MENAFN) The United States will carry on attacking Houthi party in Yemen unless they stop their strikes on product vessels, as stated by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Sunday.

"This isn't a one-night thing. This will continue until you say 'We're done shooting at ships. We're done shooting at assets,'" Hegseth informed a news agency.

His comments happened a day following the United States’ air bombings on Houthis, with murdering arount 31 individuals, as Leader Donald trump cautioned that “hell will rain down” if the party keep on striking Red Sea trade vessels.

"We don't want a long, limited war in the Middle East. We don't care what happens in the Yemeni civil war.”

"This is about stopping the shooting at assets in that critical waterway to reopen freedom of navigation, which is a core national interest of the United States," Hegseth stated.

The Pentagon chief mentioned that Iran has been supporting the Houthis "for far too long."
"They better back off," he cautioned.
