Series of US airstrikes targets Houthi militants in Yemen
(MENAFN) A series of US airstrikes targeted Houthi militants in Yemen, resulting in numerous casualties. President Donald trump personally monitored the operation, which followed his warning of severe retaliation if the Houthis continued attacking US interests and disrupting global shipping.
Shortly after Trump’s announcement of a “decisive and powerful military action” on Saturday, strikes hit various locations in Yemen. The Houthi-run health Ministry reported that at least 13 civilians were killed in the capital, Sanaa, while another 10 people— including four children and a woman—died in an attack on Saada province. Nearly two dozen others sustained injuries.
The Houthis’ political bureau denounced the strikes as a “war crime” and vowed retaliation, stating that Yemeni forces are prepared to respond to any escalation with equal force.
