Pope remains hospitalized even as health status improves
(MENAFN) Pope Francis remains in the recovery process in a hospital in Rome, however, he yet must remain hospitalized, based on comments made on Saturday by the Vatican.
The health status of the 88-year-old pope is still under control, based on a news agency, that said improvement was noticed in the previous week as “high-flow oxygen therapy continues, progressively reducing the need for non-invasive mechanical ventilation during the night.”
“The Holy Father still requires hospital medical care, as well as physiotherapy and respiratory physiotherapy. These therapies are currently showing further, gradual improvements,” the Vatican said.
Francis, the religious head of Catholics as well as leader of state of the Vatican, was incapable of talking at two public occasions on Feb. 9 as well as Feb. 12, showing that he had pneumonia along with having trouble breathing. He requested assistants to read the writings of his speeches.
On Feb.14, the pope was sent to Gemelli Hospital, then was diagnosed with pneumonia in both of his lungs.
