Brazil sees historic surge in grain harvest for 2025

(MENAFN) According to data released on Thursday by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, Brazil is set to achieve a record-breaking production of cereals, legumes, as well as oil-producing plants, reaching an estimated 323.8 million tons this year.

The agency noted that this figure marks a notable 10.6% rise from last year, reflecting an increase of 31.1 million tons.

The primary factor behind this growth is soybean production, the leading agricultural commodity in the South American nation. Output is anticipated to expand by 13.4%, pushing total soybean yield to 164.4 million tons in 2025.

An estimated 81 million hectares of farmland will be cultivated, representing a 2.4% expansion compared to 2024.
