Constitutional Reforms Pave Way For Greater Youth Political Engagement - Minister
The minister noted this policy ensures strengthening youth-related roles and engagement in public life, the decision-making process, and shaping the future.
During his meeting with a youth delegation from the "Young Political Vision" initiative, held at the ministry's headquarters, Odat noted the state is "steadily making progress" in the process of modernisation and development in all aspects, despite regional and international circumstances.
Odat said that the Kingdom's political modernisation vision reflects Jordan's "robustness and resilience" and its capability to respond to internal and external changes.
He said Jordan's youth have a "historic" opportunity to seize, as the Kingdom's constitutional amendments and the Political Parties and Election Laws have contributed to providing a "suitable" environment for youth to exercise their political rights.
Under the new legislation, he noted youth could engage in party-based programmes, shed concerns about past experiences, and enhance their access to Parliament.
Odat called on young people to seize this "monumental" opportunity to achieve an "effective and influential" partisan life, which would produce a parliament based on programmatic party blocs.
