Kuwait Partakes In The Special Winter Olympic Games In Turin, Italy

KUWAIT, March 6 (KUNA) -- The head of the Kuwaiti Olympic delegation for the intellectual special cases, Khaled Al-Nasser, said on Thursday that the Kuwaiti athletes were determined to excell in the Turin Olympic Special Games.
Al-Nasser said in a statement to KUNA upon the expedition's departure to partake in the 12th edition of the Olympic winter games for special challenges' cases, hosted by the Italian city of Turin between March 8 and 15, said the Kuwaiti competitors had been well trained at camps in the UAE and Egypt by highly specialized coaches.
The Kuwaiti team includes Mariam Dhiab for snowboarding and Hajar Al-Rashidi for snow running.
Executive manager of Al-Tomooh Sports Club for Intellectual Disabilities, Hoda Al-Khaldi, expressed confidence in a statement to KUNA that the Kuwaiti champions would make unprecedented good results at the winter games in Turin.
Dr. Ismail Habash, a specialized emergency doctor accompanying the team, said he was partaking in the mission on behalf of the ministry of health in line with the government concern for the various segments of special needs' cases
The special winter tournament in Turin is due to kick off on March 15. It will involve 1,500 competitors and 1,000 trainees from 100 states. (end)
